Day 4 - Lounging around the Hard Rock Cafe

I woke up at 3am starving.  No microwave so I scarfed down the cold hamburger and went back to sleep.  I was still hungry but I was not going to eat cold chicken wings.

I slept in, ate breakfast at 9, ate lunch at 12, used a hair dryer to warm the wings at 3 and ate dinner at 6.  I was a little hungry.  I'm still really thirsty and I've been drinking all day.
The hair dryer chicken wings didn't hurt them and the were hot.

The secret to doing laundry in a hotel room is detergent strips and the towel roll and stomp.
Walking around the Nevada side things are almost completely open for the vacinated.  On the California side a block away you put on your mask to order from a take out window.
About to go to bed for a dawn start tomorrow.  I want to have 100km done before it gets too hot.

  1. A couple of things.

I've eaten chicken wings cold, they're not that bad.

Also, for recovery, eat beets. Yes beets. Buy a can or a jar of pickled beets, eat them every day with dinner. They will help you recover from your rides. And it sounds like you could also use some vitamins.

Now that I have part-time job where I'm on my feet for 5 hours, I found I needed to take vitamins every day to help keep my energy up and so I don't crash. Multi-vitamin, B complex, Vit C (like EmergenC) and fish oil (like Salmon) in the morning with breakfast, and Ca/Mg in the evening. (I also take Vit D but with you being outside all day, I don't think you need it).

Best of luck on Day 4.

  2. One more thing. I know you're drinking Gatorade, but if you find you need more electrolytes, you can also try Pedialyte - and yes, adults can drink it.
